Feminism Top : H&M | Skirt : Asos | Vans : Disney Vans | Beanie : Gemma Ryans ;)
I don't even remember the last time I took some time to write on this little corner of the internet, but I know its been quite awhile. The past few months have been like a whirlwind of emotions, memories and achievements; me and my boyfriend now have a little two bedroom house and I'm an accessories designer, designing bags + purses which is CRAZY.
I left University in June scared out of my mind, staying at my boyfriends parents and working at our local petrol station, and as much as I dreaded being in that situation it gave me some time to breathe (inbetween searching and applying for jobs everysingleday on indeed!) and I'm only now over this Christmas break just starting to come up for air and starting to plan where I'm going to next both personally and professionally. I still want for more creativity and more freedom within that and I want to start carving out a place for myself within fashion, I want to learn as much as I can as an accessories designer and I want to draw more, I want to illustrate and I want to explore trend further in a freelance/independent capacity. I feel theres so many corners of this creative industry I enjoy and this year I need to start properly trying to accomplish something for myself and I want to find where I fit in ^.^

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish: Soft and Gentle
Illamasqua Blusher: Sophie
Kiko Eyeshadow Stick:37
Kiko Lipstick: 613
Illamasqua Skin Base: 6
Mac Eyeshadow: Texture
Tshirt: Blink 182 Leeds Fest
Skirt: Vintage (My Mums!)
Floral Garland: Primark

I have fallen in love with this Illamasqua blusher in 'Sophie' ; The other night I was in the Bullring waiting for my lovely friend to go and have dinner and I found myself drawn to the Illamasqua concession stand. I've wanted to try something from this particular makeup brand for a L O N G time, the colours are awesome and appeal to my inner colour kid ^.^ I went for this particular shade as I really want a warm coral/pink with flecks of gold to double up as an eye shadow over summer and this blusher looks awesome both with and without foundation, which will be perfect for those summer days when I love having my freckles out underneath the sunshine!
Also in London this weekend I got the chance to go to Kiko, a makeup store me and my sister discovered on our travels to Barcelona last year. I was so excited to look at all their eye makeup as last summer I constantly wore a peachy orange shadow I purchased from there (which I have since unfortunately dropped on numerous occasions and shattered...I'm so clumsy). With not too much money and the Illamasqua purchase already ruining my saving plans I settled on this eyeshadow stick. I've been after an eyeshadow similar to Sonic which was in the Urban Decay Vice Palette since Christmas; however since this has sold out and they don't sell it by itself I have been searching everywhere for something similar. Although this quite a bit darker I love the red undertones and think they make my eyes look super blue! If anyone knows where I can find Sonic/Sonic dupe please let me know ^.^
I go home for my tiny easter holidays on Friday morning and I'm so excited to have a few days back home and relax and eat chocolate and hopefully enjoy some springtime sun before the last bit of uni ! ^.^

Pierre Balmain Exhibition

Last week I went to Paris! As part of my Fashion Degree when we get to our 'FMP' we go over to Paris to a little fabric area near the Sacre Coeur and armed with our moodboards and silhouette ideas we enter into two days of fabric frenzy. I came away with what my tutor described as 'so disgusting their fabulous' (uhh.. thanks?) My colour palette was yellows/pinks/oranges with accents of black and green; to begin with I didnt want the colour to be overwhelming but then I looked at myself and realised my collection is going to be the brightest rainbow you've ever seen walk down a runway!
Buying fabric can to be honest be overwhelming. After being prewarned by our tutors we could spend anywhere up to two thousand pounds on our fabric I opted to cover my eyes and enter my pin number for every transaction and had moments of delirium when I bought 7 metres.. YES.. 7 metres.. of glitter plastic.
Three full days in Paris and two ten hour coach trips destroyed me. I can only liken the end result of walking off that coach at the end and hauling 64 metres of fabric up steps as on a par with the last walk of Leeds Fest. I have therefore spent the past four days (including valentines day :( ) horribly ill, I have drank atleast fifty litres of orange juice and struggled to eat anything and at the moment im cleaning my room in stages as ive got that pathetic zero energy, shaking everytime i do anything kind of flu.
I am however excited for the coming months, buying fabric has really motivated me and made me feel excited again for the possibiltiys, sometimes working in a sketchbook I get so caught up in 'Art' that I struggle to see it in terms of fashion. Its scary to think in 3 months I should have a 6 piece collection ^.^

Black and Red Shirt: Religion @ Topshop
Fur Coat: Missguided
Orange Scarf: Topshop
Bindis: Ebay
Floral Veil: Asos
Backpack: Paperchase
I spent two days in London this week with Chase to go see The book of Mormon (which was amazing!), stay in one of the white houses with black doors and explore the streets like tourists ^.^
Life has been feeling intense over the past month and everytime I feel like things are getting happier something else happens. A break was nice to take some time away from the people and places that I can find myself so absorbed in and get inspired for the future and focus on that.
I bought Chase tickets to see 'The Book of Mormon' for Christmas and it was SO GOOD, I've never been to the theatre before but I fell in love with it ^.^ We stayed overnight and spent the rest of the time exploring everything London has to offer. We stumbled through an Arcade, wandered into Chinatown, took photos outside of Parliament and found Pikachu in Tokyo.
It was a perfect day with a perfect person :)

Floral Crown: Asos
Choker: Primark
Scarf: Topshop
Garfield Bag: Lazy Oaf
Shoes: Doc Martens

Today was my first 'day' in Uni since we handed in last term and my first proper day out of my house since being ill, fresh air has never felt so good! I'm feeling really excited about this term after having a meeting with my tutor today to discuss where I'm going to be taking my FMP (Final Major Project) and have a few trips booked to London in the next few weeks to research women s rights/equality/suffrage and Victorian fashion.
I've been sat on Wikipedia all day (such a reliable source.. I got books out of the library aswell!) and I feel like a growing fountain of knowledge regarding Women's Suffrage, it's so interesting/disgusting how little to no rights women had preceding the 20th Century and makes me feel privileged to be able to be who I am today.
I got my fur jacket above ^^^ in the sale for misguided and I am in love with it, I feel like a huge teddy bear and keep stroking my arms when walking down the street ^.^

Silver Skirt: River Island
Orange Coat: Zara
Cruella De Vil Fur: H&M
Shoes: Topshop
Doctors Bag: Zara

Writing a fashion blog is something I've been meaning to do for what feels like years now, but as 2015 has begun and I got the best camera EVER for Christmas this year, I feel inspired to play around with the automatic features (one day I'll learn manual focusing...) and take some photos of what I'm wearing during the week.
Today was an important day for me as I started a week long work placement in the design department of Tu for Sainsburys, I graduate from University this June and I'm trying my hardest to get as much experience in the fashion industry as possible, to try and find what I really love doing and what makes me happy, I'm not yet sure what that is but I'm trying to figure it out ^.^
